Elks Brothers and Sisters,
Spring is coming and with it so is a new lodge year. It is my pleasure to be taking over as the new Exalted Ruler of Kenton Lodge #157.
As we begin a new lodge year it is my duty to thank many of the great individuals who made our previous year so wonderful. First, thanks go to Todd Daquino and the rest of our officers for their diligence and selflessness. It takes an army to keep this place going, both in the club and within our lodge, and without so many amazing Elks we surely wouldn’t be one the best lodges in the state. If you haven’t taken a moment to thank our group of officers and volunteers when you see them, please do so soon. There are so many people who give their time freely without hearing how much they are appreciated. Please make them understand how thankful we are for even the smallest amount of time given without asking for anything.
This brings me to my “mission statement” for this year. It’s a simple saying that you will hear me and, hopefully, many more say repeatedly. “HOW CAN I HELP?” It’s very easy to ask and yet even the smallest request can make the biggest difference in our lodge and in our community. If there is a project you want to get off the ground, how can I help? If you find a place in our community where our resources are needed, how can I help? We are willing to lend a hand to any person who is in need. Please don’t be afraid to ask!
Here’s to hoping for good weather to come and see you all around the club!
