Kenton Ritual Team and Coaches Heading to National Competition

The Kenton Lodge 157 Ritual team is heading to San Antonio for the National Convention being held July 1st through the 4th. They will be representing Ohio in the ritualistic competition. Wish them all good luck when you see them at the lodge this week!

All participants in the competition must conduct a mock initiation ritual for new members and are judged on word memorization accuracy, deportment and impressiveness.

The officers have been practicing all year leading up to the Ritual Competition, often practicing Mondays, Thursday, and weekends to hone their skills.

During the competition, the officers must complete the initiation ceremony within a narrow time limit and under stringent rules. The purpose of the Ritual Contest is to ensure that each Officer knows the Ritual of Initiation so the candidate is impressed with the lessons it teaches, ensure that the Ritual is performed in a standardized manner, nationwide, and Increase Officer Camaraderie and teamwork.
