Local Student Helen Haung Winner of Americanism Essay Contest

The Kenton Elks held their annual Americanism essay contest for 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th graders. 3 participants from the 2 levels are selected from the group to be submitted to the NW district for judging.

Helen Huang was one of three level 2 entrants whose essay was sent to the district. She finished first in the district and received a $100 Visa gift card for her efforts.

Her essay was then sent to the state to be judged again. She again finished first and received 2 $100 Visa gift cards. Her essay was then sent to Grand Lodge for national judging. Congratulations Helen!
