Local Youths Competed in Ohio Elks Soccer Shoot Out Over Weekend

The Elks State Soccer Shoot took place Saturday in Coshocton, Ohio and several local youth attendees won awards. Ruby Styer took 1st place in the U14 girls competition and Abby Schlegel won 1st place in the U8 girls division. Two other Kenton Lodge Shooters were Austen Gerlach who took 2nd place in U14 boys division and Ellie Minter was awarded 3rd place in the U10 girls competition.

There was a total of 51 boys and girls, ages 4 through 15, from across Ohio who competed in the state contest. The two 1st place finishers, Ruby and Abby, will now compete at the Elks Mid-Atlantic Regional contest May 12-14, 2020, in York, Pennsylvania. Ohio Elks Association Sergant at Arms John Hines and Julie Crowe PER attended from the Kenton Lodge; John acted as the Emcee for the contest and awards luncheon, and Julie gave the opening prayer, followed by my singing the National Anthem.
